Betting Odds to win 2022 SEC

The SEC is once again expected to be the best conference in the country when it comes to college football. Two teams stand above the rest, but surprises can always happen.

The SEC has consistently been the best conference in the sport of college football, and that shouldn’t change in 2022. In fairness, it hasn’t been the entire SEC that has dominated the sport, but two teams, in particular, continue to lead the way.

Betting odds are now available for the upcoming SEC football season, and these odds look a bit different than they do in other leagues. Here is a look at the current betting odds to win the SEC.

No Surprise At the Top

The Georgia Bulldogs are the defending College Football Playoff champion, beating the Alabama Crimson Tide in the title game. Those two teams have dominated their respective divisions in the SEC over the last few seasons, and that should be the case again in 2022.

This year it is the Alabama Crimson Tide that are the betting favorites to win the SEC as they have odds set at -140 to win the conference. Alabama did actually win the SEC Championship Game last season but then couldn’t double up and win the biggest game of the year.

The Georgia Bulldogs are next on the list at +160, and they are overwhelming favorites to win the SEC East Division. Georgia lost a ton of talent from a season ago, but they have once again been able to load up with a great recruiting class.

Any Real Threats?

Before taking a look at some of the other teams in the SEC, here are the current betting odds for some of the top contenders:

  • Texas A&M +1800
  • Kentucky +4000
  • Tennessee +5000
  • Ole Miss +5000
  • Florida +6000
  • Arkansas +6000

Even though there are six teams listed above, it really feels as if there is only one team that has a chance to upset the Crimson Tide or Bulldogs and win the SEC. Texas A&M has brought in the top recruiting class in the country, and they upset Alabama a season ago.

Kentucky and Tennessee are good enough to provide a challenge to Georgia in the East Division, but they aren’t good enough to run through the conference undefeated. Florida used to be an annual contender in this conference, but that is simply no longer the case.

No Chance in 2022

The way that Alabama and Georgia have absolutely dominated the SEC over the last few seasons, they just simply haven’t allowed other programs to keep up. Even some of the bottom teams in the SEC could be dominant in other leagues across the country, but they just have zero chance to win the SEC in 2022.

Here are the current betting odds for the rest of the teams in the mighty SEC:

  • LSU +10000
  • Mississippi State +12000
  • Auburn +15000
  • South Carolina +15000
  • Missouri +25000
  • Vanderbilt +50000
