Arizona sports betting is one of the latest states to go live. The launch was perfectly timed with the start on the 2021 NFl regular season.

One of the key provisions in Arizona’s laws is retail sportsbooks at professional sporting venues. This includes the home stadiums and arenas of all the professional teams in this state.

Along with the NFL’s Cardinals and the NBA’s Suns, NASCAR is also on that list with Phoenix Raceway. Barstool Sportsbook through Penn National Gaming is the official sportsbook partner with that NASCAR racing venue.

Taking a page out of Arizona’s playbook, Richmond Raceway for Virginia sportbooks has partnered with WynnBET, as this track’s official mobile sportsbook operator. The goal was to provide a whole new sports betting experience for NASCAR fans.

That plan was put to the test earlier in September when NASCAR rolled into Richmond for its second Cup Series event of the racing season.

The WynnBET Lounge at Richmond Raceway is conveniently located among the Dogwood Suites between Turns 1 and 2. This retail sportsbook has brought a bit of Las Vegas to Virginia’s Capital. The book was designed to mirror Wynn Resorts’ flagship betting lounge in the casino gambling capital of the US.

Virginia’s current sports betting laws do not have provisions for actual retail sportsbooks. The gaming industry is in the process of bringing land-based casinos to the Commonwealth. However, no legal retail sportsbooks are operating at this point in time.

WynnBET has complied with the current laws by building a sports betting-themed lounge at the racetrack. However, mobile sports betting through the WynnBET app is legal in the state.

Following a soft opening for NASCAR’s Cup Series race in April, the WynnBET Lounge at Richmond was primed for the race in September. A similar facility is in place at Martinsville Speedway as the sister track to Richmond.

The WynnBET Lounge offers six television monitors surrounding the luxury suite at each track. The race was supported by a live feed of betting odds through BettorView. Brand ambassadors were on hand in Richmond to guide guests through the WynnBET registration process on the betting app.

Part of the lounge’s amenities included a dining menu from Levy Restaurants. High-end menu options enhanced the experience. The food and drink package was part of the package for guests in attendance.

Every NASCAR fan attending races at Richmond and Martinsville will notice WynnBET branding and activations around the tracks. The gaming and entertainment giant has done an excellent job at making the most out of this racing sponsorship.

The big picture is making a bigger impact in Virginia’s legal sports betting market. The Old Dominion State went live with legal sports betting in late-January of this year.

Most of the major US sportsbook operators have gone live in this state. This includes FanDuel Sportsbook, DraftKings Sportsbook, and BetMGM Sports as the three biggest operators in the legal US market.

As part of WynnBET’s partnership with Richmond Raceway, the company offered a chance to with tickets to the recent race with ties to $25 wagers on the actual Cup Series event.
