Penn National Gaming has plans to open Hollywood Casino Morgantown on Dec. 22, pending final regulatory approvals.
This will be the company’s fourth land-based casino gaming venue in the state. Hollywood Casino at Penn National Race Course notes the company’s strong ties to the PA horse racing industry. This facility is located in Grantville, which is near the state capital city of Harrisburg.
One of the other gaming locations is Hollywood Casino at the Meadows in Washington, PA. Hollywood Casino York opened earlier this year.
Penn National spent more than $110 million on its latest casino project. Marc Guastella is the Vice President and General Manager of Hollywood Casino Morgantown. He released the following comments as part of a company release:
“The countdown to our grand opening begins today. We’re very excited to soon welcome patrons to this beautiful new property, where they’ll be able to experience premier gaming, dining and entertainment.”
Hollywood Casino Morgantown covers more than 80,000 square feet of space. The casino floor will house 750 of the most popular slot machines. There will be another 30 tables games covering Blackjack, Roulette, Baccarat and Craps.

The Barstool Sportsbook at Morgantown
Other property features include a climate-controlled outdoor gaming terrace. Retail sports betting will be available at the Barstool Sportsbook. The main attraction in the sportsbook is a jumbotron located above the main bar.
Barstool Sportsbook will offer both betting windows and stand-alone kiosks. Customers will also be able to bet on simulcast horse races from a number of featured tracks. This includes Penn National when that track is running a live daily card.
Also part of the sportsbook’s appeal is the addition of a number of interactive games. There will be an outdoor firepit as well as a designated retail store for Barstool Sportsbook branded merchandise.
Other Amenities at Hollywood Casino Morgantown
Penn National partnered with Philadelphia dining legend Tony Luke’s to bring the taste of South Steet to the Morgantown location. Another popular dining option will be the Red Lotus Asian Kitchen.
Along with the original Hollywood casino location in conjunction with Penn National Race Course, this will be the company’s other signature gaming facility in the Keystone State.
Ahead of the planned grand opening on Dec. 22, there will be a two-day soft opening by invitation only. All the gaming proceeds from those two days will be donated to local charities in the Morgantown area. This includes the United Way of Berks County and the Honey Brook Food Pantry.
Hollywood Casino Morgantown is located near Penn National Gaming’s corporate facilities in Wyomissing, PA. The gaming venue is located just off the Pennsylvania Turnpike at the Morgantown exit.
