Regé-Jean Page’s Lead Weakens in James Bond Betting Markets

–Tom Hardy, Regé-Jean Page Nearly Neck and Neck in Odds to be Next James Bond–

Tom Hardy’s odds to be the next James Bond improved over the past week while Regé-Jean Page’s weakened, according to betting aggregators US-Bookies.com (See Disclaimer Below). Tom Hardy is now 4/1 to take over the role (20% implied probability) after improving from 11/2 (15.4%) since last week. Hardy still trails Page, who worsened from 9/4 (30.8%) to 11/4 (26.7%) during the same time.

“We’ve seen different actors stepping into the favorite position for months now, but Tom Hardy has always been among the top picks to be the next James Bond,” says a US-Bookies spokesperson. “Though he’s not the favorite, it’s still impressive to see him have among the strongest odds with a pool full of such prominent stars.”

Henry Cavill noticed slight improvements over the past week, improving from 8/1 (11.1% implied probability) to 7/1 (12.5%), which gives him the third-best odds. Richard Madden noticed the opposite trend, shifting from 7/1 (12.5%) to 8/1 (11.1%).

“James Norton noticed the perhaps the most unfortunate shift of the week,” says a US-Bookies spokesperson. “Last week, Norton was tied with Tom Hardy at 11/2 for the second-best odds overall, but Norton has since worsened to 9/1, where he’s now the fifth-best.”

James Bond Betting Odds Show Richard Madden Overtake Tom Hardy as Favorite to Replace Daniel Craig

Richard Madden is the new favorite to take over the role of James Bond, according to betting aggregators US-Bookies.com (See Disclaimer Below). Since earlier this month, Madden’s odds have improved from 9/1 to 3/1. Madden overtook Tom Hardy, whose odds worsened from 3/1 to 4/1.

“Richard Madden has seen a sudden spike in interest, with one in eight bets placed in the markets now being in favor of the Game of Thrones actor taking over Daniel Craig’s role, suggesting a growing public confidence in Madden becoming the next Bond,” says a US-Bookies spokesperson. “With this influx in betting, Madden’s odds have shortened enough to become the new favorite over Tom Hardy, who’s been hanging around the top of the list for some time.”

Following Hardy, Henry Cavill has 5/1 odds to be the next James Bond (16.7%) after improving from 6/1 (14.3%) earlier in December. Idris Elba is close behind with 6/1 odds (14.3%) after worsening slightly from 11/2 (5.4%). Regé-Jean Page follows Elba with 8/1 odds (11.1%), which haven’t change this month. “Tom Holland has seen some significant movement following the popularity of the latest Spider-Man film, as his odds have seen a noticeable increase recently,” says a US-Bookies spokesperson. “Shifting from 80/1 to 33/1, Holland is now tied with a number of other actors just behind Callum Turner, Mahershala Ali, Lashana Lynch and Cillian Murphy.”

James Bond Betting Odds See Shake-up in Top Three

Idris Elba’s and Henry Cavill’s odds to be the next James Bond have seen considerable improvements since last month, according to betting aggregators US-Bookies.com (See Disclaimer Below). Idris Elba improved from 18/1 (5.3% implied probability) to 11/2 (15.4%), while Henry Cavill improved from 16/1 (5.9%) to 6/1 (14.3%). Tom Hardy remains the 3/1 favorite (25%).

“Idris Elba and Henry Cavill have been on fans’ and bookies radars for some time, but their recent improvements come at a time when the Bond producers mentioned wanting the next star to be a British male of any ethnicity,” says a US-Bookies spokesperson. “However, at the same time that Elba and Cavill improved, Richard Madden and Tom Hopper saw their odds move in the opposite direction.”

Richard Madden’s odds to take over the role worsened from 6/1 (14.3% implied probability) to 9/1 (10%). He now trails Regé-Jean Page, whose odds have remained at 8/1 (11.1%) since last month. Tom Hopper’s odds also weakened from 11/2 (15.4%) to 12/1 (7.7%).

“Tom Hopper was the favorite to be the next James Bond as recently as October, when a sharp increase in bets caused the Umbrella Academy star’s odds to surge,” says a US-Bookies spokesperson. “However, that rise appears to be short-lived, as Hopper’s odds now put him behind Jamie Bell and James Norton.”
