Best Raptors Predictions
As the defending NBA Champions, much is expected from the Raptors this coming season.
The loss of Kawhi Leonard, last year’s star player and Finals MVP, will be a crushing blow to the team. Fortunately, the team was able to keep many of the other key pieces of the championship team.
Expect the Raptors to be among the top few teams in the weaker Eastern Division and probably play in the Eastern Conference Finals again.
Toronto Raptors betting will be available for a wide variety of bet types including: Moneylines – the most common type of wager, moneylines simply allow bettors to bet on which team they think will win.
Point Spreads – point spreads attempt to even out matchups by providing underdogs with a head start in points.
The favorites must win the game by a select number of points to win, covering the spread. Whereas the underdogs must not lose by more points than the select number, known as ‘betting against the spread’.
Over/under – with overunder wagers bettors must pick whether the total points in a game will be over or under a given value.
The over/under value is set by the bookmaker. Outrights – outright bets are available well in advance of the beginning of the season.
They give bettors the option of wagering on the overall winner of the NBA Championship. Even now, outright betting for the NBA is open on most basketball betting apps.
History Of Raptors
The Raptors are the only NBA franchise native to Canada after the Vancouver Grizzlies moved to Memphis in 2001.
The team had reasonable success in the early 2000’s, reaching the playoffs but falling short of the conference finals.
In the 2019 playoffs, however, the Raptors won their first Eastern Conference title and advanced to their first NBA Finals.
They won their first NBA championship under Head Coach Nick Nurse, beating the Golden State Warriors in the Finals.
The team was formed in 1995 as part of the NBA’s expansion into Canada.
The team was one of two Canadian teams, along with the Vancouver Grizzlies.
Since the 2001–02 season, the Raptors are the only Canadian-based team in the league, as the Grizzlies relocated to Memphis, Tennessee.
The 2018/2019 season was easily the franchise’s best, as they went on to win the Atlantic Division and eventually the NBA Title.
Other notable seasons include 2000-01, when the team reached the Eastern Conference Finals and 2006-07 when the team topped the Atlantic.
Most Famous Players
Even though the team has had a relatively short history, many famous players have been produced in Toronto.
Top players include: Vince Carter – arguably the most athletic player to ever play the game, Vince Carter was integral in building the franchise through its early years.
Surprisingly Carter is still playing at the age of 42 for the Atlanta Hawks.
Hakeem Olajuwon – one of the greatest centers of all-time, Olajuwon played a few seasons in Toronto towards the end of his career.
