Packers Betting Picks of the Week

The Packers had a relatively slow 2018-19 season, mainly due to injuries to starting quarterback Aaron Rogers. With Rogers healthy and ready to go, you can expect the team to be much more competitive this season. Many experts have the team coming out of the NFC North with a playoff spot.

A number of Green Bay Packers betting options will be available this season. Some of the most popular betting types include:

Moneylines

Moneylines provide simple bets on the winner of a matchup. Odds can vary greatly based on the teams. Basically, these are a simple win-lose bet.

Points Spreads

Point spreads attempt to even out matchups by awarding the underdog a select number of points. Favorites, on the other hand, are deducted the same number of points.

If you bet against the spread, you’re betting on the underdog to lose by less than a select number of points. To cover the spread, you must wager on the favorite to win by more than the select number of points.

Over/Under

Over-under bets give you the chance to bet on the total number of points in a game. A number will be set by the sportsbook, you can wager on whether you think the points total will be over or under the set number.

Prop Bets

Football prop bets give you the chance to bet on various occurrences within a game. Note, these actions don’t necessarily affect the game’s outcome. For example, you can bet on who will score the first touchdown.

In contrast, some are related to the outcome, at least in part. As an example, bet on whether Aaron Rogers will score two touchdowns in the game. Get a full explanation of prop bets.

Outrights

Outright wagers are made on the winner of the Super Bowl. Even now you can wager on a team to win the Super Bowl on most online sportsbooks. The odds to outright bets change greatly over the course of the season.

History of the Packers

The Packers are the most successful franchise in NFL history, with 13 league championships. Championships include nine pre–Super Bowl NFL titles and four Super Bowl victories. The team has been playing at Lambeau field since 1957. The Packers are currently the 26th most valuable franchise in the world, estimated at a value of $2.35 billion. They are the only non-profit, community-owned major league professional sports team based in the United States.

The Super Bowl trophy, named the Vince Lombardi Trophy, is named after the Packers’ coach of the same name.

Team Creation

The team is the third oldest in the league, dating back to 1919. Founded by Earl “Curly” Lambeau and George Whitney Calhoun, the franchise traces back its lineage to semi-professional teams in Green Bay back in the 1890s.

Best Seasons

As the winningest team in NFL history, the Packers have had a number of great seasons. The team won their first two Super Bowls in 1967 and 1968. Their next title came in 1996 with Brett Farve at the helm as the quarterback and then again in 2010 with Rogers.

Since the early 2000’s they have dominated the NFC North, winning the division ten times in the past 18 years.

Most Famous Players

One of the most storied franchises in the NFL, the Packers have had many notable players and coaches. Two names that jump out are Vince Lombardi and Brett Farve. Vince Lombardi

Is known for coaching the team to three straight and five total NFL Championships in seven years. Favre was the first quarterback to throw 500 touchdowns, throw for 70,000 yards, and complete 6,000 passes.
