David Perdue Has Strongest Odds to be Georgia’s Next Governor

–Though Certain GOP Governors Back Kemp, Perdue Sits Atop Bookies’ Picks to Win 2022 Election–

David Perdue is the odds-on favorite to win the 2022 Georgia Gubernatorial Election, according to betting aggregators US-Bookies.com (See Disclaimer Below). Perdue has 7/10 odds to win the election (58.8%), and he’s followed by Brian Kemp at 6/4 (40%).

“A group of GOP lawmakers wrote a letter to former Senator David Perdue, urging him to not challenge incumbent Governor Brian Kemp, but the bookies say Perdue is more likely to win the election,” says a US-Bookies spokesperson.

Perdue’s endorsement from Donald Trump can’t be ignored, as the former senator is now part of a list of Trump-backed candidates who the odds favor to win their respective elections

As the only Democrat whose candidacy is officially declared, Stacey Abrams is just behind Brian Kemp in the betting odds. Abrams has 3/1 odds to win the Georgia gubernatorial election (25% implied probability). She’s followed by Vernon Jones at 12/1 (7.7%). Kandiss Taylor and Jonathon Garcia are much further out, with 50/1 (2%) and 100/1 odds (1%), respectively.

“Stacey Abrams seems to have a lot of support from Democrats, as this will be her second time running for governor of the state,” says a US-Bookies spokesperson “However, she has a lot of ground to make up as the sole Democrat in the race right now, as Perdue and Kemp are making a tight race at the top of the bookies’ lists.”
