New Yorkers win over $100,000 on illegal Midterms wagers

Trump impeachment now the most popular political bet at even money.

NEW YORK based bettors won in excess of a $100,000 with successful illegal bets on the Midterms, according to insight from betting intelligence service US-Bookies.

The site’s political analysts estimate the thousands of New Yorkers wagered either with offshore books or routed money back to the United Kingdom where they cashed in on the Democrats securing the House at odds of 1/2.

The second most successful wager was on Democrat parlay of Montana, Nevada, and New Jersey, which paid nearly 2/1 odds, while several thousand New Yorkers were on the money with the call of a Senate score of 46-51, at odds of 5/1.

Midterm wagering took the world and country by storm, generating almost $10 million dollars of bets nationwide both illegally and in jurisdictions where political wagering is legal. At present, despite the boom in state-by-state sports betting legalization, there are no plans for political wagering to become sanctioned in the United States.

And the betting frenzy hasn’t stopped there, with New York now doubling down on President Trump getting impeached in his first term, which is now an even money bet with a line of 1/1. Forecasts suggest approximately $100,000 has been wagered in the state on this prop since the Midterm result was confirmed.

Alex Kostin, a political analyst for US-Bookies said: “New Yorkers went Midterm wagering wild, cashing in over a hundred thousand in profit at the expense of their bookie. Political speculators in the state managed to land the winnings thanks to their accurate national forecasting and a huge amount of that payout is now riding on The President getting impeached sooner rather than later.”
