Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness is Bookies’ Favorite to be Highest Grossing Film of 2022

Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness has the strongest odds to be the highest grossing film worldwide in 2022, according to betting aggregators US-Bookies.com (See Disclaimer Below). Its 29/20 odds (40.8% implied probability) make it the most likely film to achieve this feat, followed by Avatar 2 at 2/1 (33.3%).  

“Bookies are very confident in the Marvel effect, as three of the top four most likely films to be the highest grossing in 2022 are part of the Marvel Cinematic Universe,” says a US-Bookies spokesperson. “The only non-Marvel film in the top four is the sequel to what was at one point the highest grossing film of all time.” 

Following Avatar 2 is Thor: Love and Thunder, which has 5/1 odds to be the highest grossing film of 2022 (16.7% implied probability). Black Panther: Wakanda Forever follows closely at 6/1 (14.3%). The Batman and Mission Impossible 7 are tied with 10/1 odds (9.1%). 

Jurassic World: Dominion has 12/1 odds to be the highest grossing film in 2022 (7.7% implied probability). Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse and Lightyear follow, both at 14/1 (6.7%). The Flash is tenth on the list with 20/1 odds (4.8%).
