MLB Betting Picks for Tuesday, May 24, 2022

We aren’t even in the month of June yet, and the MLB Playoff races are already heating up throughout the league. MLB betting has heated up right along with the playoff races, and it’s starting to become easier to handicap each team in the league.

There are 15 games on the schedule on Tuesday night, but three games really stand out as good betting opportunities. Here is a look at each of the three games, with a betting pick included for each.

Chicago Cubs +110 at Cincinnati Reds

The Chicago Cubs are in Cincinnati for a series against the Reds, and the visitors came away with a big win in the series opener. It hasn’t been a good season for either team in the NL Central Division, but the Cubs have been much better than the Reds.

The pitching matchup on Tuesday night favors the Cubs in a big way, as well as it will be Marcus Stroman taking the mound. Stroman has gone just 1-4 this season, but he is always capable of having a dominant start.

Tyler Mahle starts for the Reds on Tuesday, and he is 2-4 with a 5.23 ERA. There is some power in the Cincinnati lineup, but there are also some pretty glaring holes.

Chicago is going to pick up another win on Tuesday night, and taking them at +110 provides some value as well.

Toronto Blue Jays -150 at St. Louis Cardinals

The St. Louis Cardinals beat the Toronto Blue Jays on Monday night when Paul Goldschmidt hit a grand slam in the 10th inning. These two teams will now meet up again on Tuesday night, and Toronto is favored to even the series.

A big reason that the Blue Jays are favored is the fact that Kevin Gausman is set to take the mound. Gausman is 3-3 with a 2.52 ERA this season, and he has the skills to dominate an inconsistent Cardinals lineup.

St. Louis has now won four straight games, and the offense has been on fire during this run. The Cardinals will struggle to find much offense on Tuesday night, though, and they don’t have the pitching to keep up.

Take the Blue Jays -150 over the Cardinals.

Boston Red Sox at Chicago White Sox -1.5

The Chicago White Sox host the Boston Red Sox on Tuesday night, and both teams come in with some momentum. Chicago is closing in on the top spot in the AL Central, while the Red Sox are getting closer to the .500 mark.

Boston is going to have to score some runs in this game as they are sending Nick Pivetta to the mound. Pivetta has not pitched well this season, and he is facing a great offensive team.

Dylan Cease will make this start for Chicago, and he is 4-1 with a 3.09 ERA so far this season. Tim Anderson hit a huge three-run homer on Sunday night, and this White Sox team is capable of having a big offensive night.

Look for the White Sox to break this game open, and taking them at -1.5 is the best bet to make.
