2022 MLB All-Star Game Betting Preview

The Midsummer Classic is the nickname given to the Major League Baseball All-Star Game, and we are approaching the annual event. Dodger Stadium in Los Angeles is ready to host the event, and both the AL and NL rosters are full of talent.

This game doesn’t really mean anything to the players, and that has taken away some of the excitement and intensity of the game in recent years. This is still a great betting opportunity when it comes to MLB, and the betting odds are out.

AL has been dominating this game in the recent seasons, as they have now won eight straight games. The American League is the betting favorite at -115 for the 2022 MLB All-Star Game, while the National League comes in at -105.

AL Lineup Loaded With Talent

Both teams in the All-Star game are obviously full of talent, but it just looks and feels as if there is more depth in the American League lineup. There are a number of serious power hitters in the lineup for the American League, and that’s usually what gets it over the line.

Aaron Judge might be the AL MVP this season, and he is on pace for close to 60 runs. You also have Angels starts Shohei Ohtani and Mike Trout in the AL starting lineup, and those two players are always capable of putting on a show.

Ohtani will also likely pitch in this game, but he will be just one dominant starter that makes an appearance for the American League.

NL Has to Pitch it Well

If the National League is going to find a way to end this losing streak to the AL, then they are going to need to pitch extremely well. That could certainly be possible when looking at the starters on the staff, but they have to keep from giving up a home run.

The NL pitching staff is full of flame throwers, most notably Corbin Burnes and Sandy Alcantara. Veterans such as Carlos Rodon, Clayton Kershaw, and Joe Musgrove could also get in the All-Star Game, and they are all tough to hit.

Trea Turner and Mookie Betts are going to be key members of the NL starting lineup while playing in their home ballpark in LA. The National League has struggled in recent games, and they have to find a way to do some scoring.

Hard to Bet Against AL

With so much power in the American League lineup, it’s simply too hard to bet against them. That offense has always found a way to come through and score some runs, and that should happen again this one.

Don’t expect a high-scoring affair, but most of the scoring will be by the American League. This will be the ninth straight win for that league, and taking them at -115 is the best bet to make in this one.
