Wynn Resorts may have been a bit late to the party when it comes to online sports betting. Yet, the Las Vegas gaming giant is making up for lost time with its WynnBET mobile sportsbook app.
The sports betting app has been up and running in New Jersey, Colorado and Michigan since last year. Additional states that are expected to go live sometime this year include Indiana, Nevada, Massachusetts, Ohio and Iowa.
You can now add Tennessee to the list after WynnBET recently received conditional approval for sports betting by the Sports Wagering Committee of the Tennessee Education Lottery Corporation.
Conditional approval is pending the successful completion of all state regulatory requirements. Once this process is complete, a timeline for launch will be set. It was also noted in a recent company press release that WynnBET has applied for a sports betting license in the state of Virginia.
Legal sports betting in Tennessee first went live in November of last year. The Volunteer State only offers legal sports betting online through a mobile sportsbook app in the absence of any land-based casinos. The total betting handle for the month of December was just shy of $181 million.
Virginia followed suit using the same business model. That state went live in late January with the launch of the FanDuel Sportsbook app. DraftKings and BetMGM are two more books up and running in VA.
Mobile betting through a handheld device with internet access now accounts for the majority of sports bets placed in states offering both retail and online sportsbook. This trend is expected to continue increasing at an accelerated pace through 2021 and beyond.
The WynnBET app was designed with a highly intuitive and responsive interface that can offer hundreds of betting options over a wide range of sports and sporting events.

The app was developed as the main byproduct of Wynn Resorts’ strategic 2020 acquisition of BetBull. This project heavily leveraged BetBull’s vast experience in social sports betting technology. The result is a one-of-a-kind experience that enhances the whole process of betting sports online.
Wynn Resorts as the parent company to WynnBET brings unmatched expertise in customer service to the collaboration while also enhancing the brand experience.
The company’s main point of difference is creating an app for sophisticated players who understand the difference between “placing a bet and experiencing a bet.”
The Wynn Resorts’ betting app project was put on the fast track to help close the gap with the legal US betting market’s biggest players.
Along with FanDuel and DraftKings, BetMGM has made some deep inroads into the marketplace to form the Big Three in the emerging US online betting industry. Smaller books like Wagr and SI Sportsbook are doing their best to break into the top, however.
The BetMGM mobile sportsbook app is a product of MGM Resorts International as another major Las Vegas-based casino gaming company.
One of WynnBET’s primary sponsorship deals last year was with NASCAR. In October of 2020, it was named an Authorized Gaming Operator of that motor sports league. The company is currently exploring additional strategic partnerships as part of its aggressive expansion plans.
WynnBET is part of Wynn Resorts’ Interactive Division and is based in Jersey City, New Jersey.
