Florida passed Amendment 3 in November of 2018, and this has solidified the land-based casinos’ hold in FL.

Now, retail casinos can be found in nearly every major FL city without much competition.

Online casinos are not yet a reality, however. Any change to this or the addition of other forms of FL online gambling will now take a citizen’s initiative.

FL Casino Rules

HB 1327, signed into law by Governor Ron DeSantis in 2018, established a possible Amendment 3 to be voted on in November 2018. This Amendment put the decision to change any existing gambling rules in the hands of citizens rather than lawmakers.

Amendment 3 narrowly passed in 2018, and casinos since then have popped up in several locations all across the Sunshine State. Right now, you can visit a number of respected names in casino gambling and have a full Florida casino experience!

FL online casinos

If you’re looking to bet on casino games online, Amendment 3 doesn’t really have language providing for legal online betting. The only event or game you can legally bet on from an app or smartphone in FL is horse racing, using a number of respected providers that you can find online.

Just because Amendment 3 doesn’t legalize online casino gambling, that is not a sign that online casino apps will never come to Florida. The Governor has a positive attitude towards many types of gambling, as we’ve seen in recent meetings with tribal leaders and gambling business owners regarding sports betting in FL.

There’s quite a good variety of options for retail Florida casinos, a few of whom are expected to release online casino apps as soon as they’re legal.

The Seminole Hard Rock locations in FL are likely to release online casinos simply because Hard Rock casino already exists in the NJ online casinos market. The same is true of the Isle Casino at Pompano Park, who was recently acquired by parent company Eldorado, owner of the Caesars online and in-person casinos.

This merger means that at least 3 casinos in FL are already poised to release online casino apps.
