MI online casino gambling got off to a tremendous start, and this form of betting launched at the same time as online poker and online sports betting. Michigan became the first state in the US to roll out all three gambling suites at the same time.
There are only a handful of states in the US that have online casino gambling, and this will allow Michigan to become a leader in that space. There will likely be changes and improvements made to the industry, but there are favorable rules already in place.
MI Online Casino Rules
MI online casino gambling rules are pretty wide open, which is an advantage for both the site and for the player. The one major rule is that gamblers have to be physically in the state of Michigan to access the online casino sites. Although this is also the case for Michigan online sports betting.
MI online casinos are able to offer a wide range of casino games, with slots and video poker being two of the most popular options. Table games that can be found at the commercial and tribal casinos in the state can also be offered online.
The online casino bill also allows for live dealer games, which gives the bettors a similar experience to being on the casino floor. Online poker is allowed in the state of Michigan as well, and lawmakers took that one step further by legalizing interstate poker.
The commercial and tribal casinos in Michigan are able to apply for a MI online casino license, and that will create plenty of options in the state. The legal gambling age for online casino gambling in Michigan is 21 years of age.

MI Casino Regulations
In December 2019, Governor Gretchen Whitmer signed a number of bills into law to expand the gambling options in the state. H 4311 was the bill that legalized MI online casino gambling that can be offered by current casino properties in the state.
The Michigan Gaming Control Board oversees all gambling options in the state, including online casino gambling. Casinos that wish to apply for a license must submit an application to the MGCB, and the license has a $100,000 initial fee and a $50,000 annual fee.
On top of this bill, Whitmer also signed SB 991 into law, which legalized interstate poker. Online poker was included in the House Bill, but allowing for interstate poker was a way for Michigan to work around the Lawful Internet Gaming Act.
Interstate poker is not currently available, but the state will be ready when other states pass a similar law.

Interstate poker is also legal in the state of Michigan, and this could open the doors for an even bigger industry. MI online casino gambling sites have the freedom to offer a wide range of games, and that will help the market growth as well.
Other states will attempt to follow the path laid by Michigan in this industry, but getting off to an early start will pay dividends for the state. MI online casino gambling produced some impressive numbers in the first two months, and the market should only continue to grow.
